SAME SEX CIVIL UNION

The Italian Parliament, with the “Cirinnà Law” dated 20th May 2016 and made effective on 6th June 2016, created legal recognition for civil union between two people of the same sex. In January 2017 the first same sex civil union on the island of Capri was celebrated.

The ceremony follows the same procedures as for the civil wedding ceremony, and it can take place inside the marriage hall at the City Hall of Capri or Anacapri or at licensed venues approved by the municipality. Those alternate locations happen to be very wonderful places with stunning view of the sea.
